Savings Accounts

The basic savings account at Fort Snelling Federal Credit Union can be opened with only $5. Dividends are earned on balances of $100 or more. Your savings are federally insured to $100,000.  Enjoy free atm access with our of our strategically placed ATM Machines.

CDs/IRAs

Fort Snelling Federal Credit Union always offers attractive rates on share certificates and IRA certificates. The minimum term is 3 months and the minimum investment is $500.

 

We also offer Roth and Education IRAs, in addition to Traditional IRAs. It pays to invest with your credit union. You can open up an IRA with only $5. Call for the current rates, as they change regularly. In 2002-2004, you can contribute up to $3,000 to a traditional or Roth IRA per year. That limit will increase to $4,000 in 2005-2007, and in 2008, it will rise to $5,000. What's more, catch-up provisions allow investors age 50 or older to make additional annual contributions of up to $500 in 2002-2005, and up to $1,000 in 2006 and beyond. Beginning with this tax year (2002), the maximum annual contribution to an Education IRA increases from $500 to $2,000.
